The next Nintendo Direct might arrive sooner than expected if a leaked screenshot from GameStop’s inventory turns out to be accurate. The gaming company’s next announcement might be bundled with new Switch announcements and even come with great news for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fans: the next DLC character.
Reddit user Blakebeats182 posted a photo from an internal GameStop catalog that showcased 12 unnamed new releases for the Nintendo Switch to launch later this year. This potential announcement lines up with the anticipated fall addition of Banjo Kazookie to the Smash Bros. Ultimate roster.
Here are five of the next possible characters in Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC:
One of Blakebeats182’s guesses is Crash Bandicoot, the beloved Sony character. This prediction is backed up by GameFAQ user RaySquad, who claims to have insider knowledge on Smash Bros. Ultimate and that Crash is high up on the list of possibilities.
A Bandai Namco character
Pretty much any Bandai Namco character might make an appearance in the game, as they have been releasing games on Nintendo platforms for quite a while now.
There is a chance that Lloyd Irving from the Tales series will be the 4th DLC fighter.
A Monster Hunter character
Rumors were going around on 4Chan suggesting that Adeleine from Monster Hunter might be the new character, having both male and female skin options. This anonymous user correctly guessed all of the alternative skins for The Hero in their original post.
Frisk from Undertale
There isn’t strong evidence to back this up, but rumours are piling up that Frisk might be the next Smash Bros. Ultimate character.
