Fans of Pokemon Sword and Shield will get the chance to try out a demo version of the game before the official and long awaited Nintendo Switch release.
There’s a catch
Pokemon Sword and Shield will be the first entry of the franchise available to play on home consoles. All Pokemon games prior had been released only on handheld consoles, because of the fact that Game Freak wanted to stick to the series’ “pocket monster” roots.
Thankfully, the unique nature of the Nintendo Switch ( especially it’s hybrid features ) allowed devs to make a compromise between their principles and what the console market is offering to gamers.
Pokemon Sword and Shield is by far the most highly awaited Nintendo Switch game of this year, and its global release date is scheduled for November 15.
A demo will be available to play in a few weeks for fans in the UK, but there is a catch: The demo will only be available for fans to play in Blighty at the Insomnia65 event.
Location
Insomnia65 is being held at Birmingham’s NEC, and gamers will also be presented other Nintendo Switch games, like Luigi’s Mansion 3 and the Link’s Awakening remake.
Nintendo’s new scheme
Nintendo will introduce a new service named “Game Trials”, and this allows subscribers of Nintendo Switch Online memberships a free game to download and play for a limited time. The first game available this way for UK gamers will be Mario Tennis Aces, and it will be playable from August 7 to August 13, and it the same period, the game will be 33% off.
