Pokémon GO may have been released more than three years ago put the popular augmented reality title became a quick hit among players and it remains one of the most popular games in the world, with millions of active users each day.
Niantic, the company which developed the title, has released a large number of updates which added new features and kept players interested in the long run. A new Pokémon Go Fest will take place soon, and players will have the chance to encounter new Shiny Pokémon from August 6. Those who are lucky will have the chance to encounter a shiny and normal version of Poliwhirl, Poliwrath, and Politoed.
Players who participate in the Pokémon GO Fest Yokohama 2019 may stumble upon a shiny version of Poliwag in one of three areas: Yamashita Park, Rinko Park, and Akarenga Park. A hint was offered when the Yokohama key is poster was revealed as Poliwag can be seen next to a pool.
As in the case of previous festivals like those who took place in Chicago and Dortmund, the Yokohama event will also feature new special research missions, unique quests for players who participate and several special photo ops. No raid battles were announced.
Players who participate in the event won their tickets for free by applying. A lottery was organized at the end of June, and those who were selected were informed by Niantic. While the event will take place from August 6 to August 12 players can only attend the festival on a single day, a restriction which seeks to limit potential issues like overcrowding and unwanted conflicts.
Some were worried that the weather conditions might not be friendly, but Niantic has stated that the event will take place even during rain. In the case of extreme weather or natural disasters, the event will be canceled.
