Nintendo fans are eager to learn what the company planned for this year, and that includes learning when the following Nintendo Direct will take place.
It’s already known that the next Nintendo Direct event won’t be focused on a single game – There will be one for Animal Crossing and another for Pokemon, but a few months passed since the last time we had a Direct showcasing new games.
A Direct event will take place so that Nintendo can build hype before the big Holiday season.
Official Status
If you are reading this, you are most likely wondering when the company will hold the next Direct event.
Unfortunately, the gaming company hasn’t announced its plans for an upcoming event, as their only scheduled presence in E3 2020, which was just canceled due to Coronavirus concerns.
An ESA statement reads:
“After careful consultation with our member companies regarding the health and safety of everyone in our industry – our fans, our employees, our exhibitors, and our longtime E3 partners – we have made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020, scheduled for June 9-11 in Los Angeles.”
Nintendo’s Response
After that announcement was made, Nintendo revealed its update on the situation. They made it clear that their plans to replace E3 will be made public:
“Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, large industry events may be untenable for the foreseeable future. But we are considering various ways to engage with our fans and will have more to share as the year continues.”
Some sources say that a worldwide broadcast is expected to happen towards the end of March.
That is excellent news considering the current situation. However, you should just deal with it if you had plans to participate in physical presentations from Nintendo – None will happen anytime soon.
