Fans were awaiting the new Vault 94 update Bethesda had planned to roll out for Fallout 76. The update came with the highly requested Raids on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The gaming giant announced that the Patch 12 is set to be rolled out on August 20.
On the promised day, Bethesda took it to Twitter to announce that Fallout 76 was going through maintenance on all the platforms ready to receive the update. Raids is having a staggered launch during this week’s period. This is so Bethesda can test the new update, which makes sure that only your team are located in each dungeon.
“As this new Instancing technology is coming to the game for the first time in Patch 12, we are currently planning to open Vault 94 first on PC on August 20. If Vault Raids on PC run smoothly over the following days, we will open the Vault for consoles, as well,” Bethesda explained.
“Patch 12 will still be released across all platforms on the same day. However, staggering the release of Vault 94 between platforms will allow us more flexibility to address issues that may not be apparent until larger player base gains access to Vault 94 than our internal playtests allow.
“If significant issues are discovered, we can disable the Raid on PC until we’ve implemented the necessary fixes, and then bring Vault 94 back online for all platforms,” the statement released by Bethesda said.
There are three separate Vault 94 missions, even though only one will be accessible per week. ‘Dead in the Water,’ the first mission, will be available once the door to Vault 94 opens on every platform.
‘Meltdown’ and ‘Washout’ will be accessible on both consoles and PC during August 27 and September 3. Bethesda also informed players that Vault 94 would be re-sealed for about three hours each week. This happens as a mission completes, and the next one is prepared to begin.
The gaming giant also recommended players to combat with gamers on level 50 or above and confirmed that better rewards would be accessible for completing Raids on a more challenging mode.
Patch 12 is making numerous changes to the core game on all platforms. As per earlier patch notes, the changes include Nuclear Winter balance adjustments, and new instant stairs item that allows players to climb upwards more rapidly.
